SPARKS, Nev. (AP) _ Criminal charges are pending against a 19-year-old suspect who was shot in the arm by a sheriff's deputy on Thursday after he pointed what appeared to be a weapon at the officer.

Authorities found Jeremy Robbins about 5:30 p.m. Thursday at a Reno hospital where he was being treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound he suffered about 15 hours earlier.

The Washoe County Sheriff's Department, Reno and Sparks police launched a manhunt for Robbins after the shooting at a vacant residence north of Sparks where he and others were staying illegally.

Assistant Washoe County Sheriff Marshall Emerson said when the deputy ordered him to the ground, Robbins reached into his waistband, pulled out what appeared to be a weapon and pointed it at the deputy.

The deputy fired one shot and Robbins ran away. It wasn't known if he'd been hit until he was found Thursday evening.

Robbins had been booked into the county jail earlier this month on suspicion of resisting an officer, minor in possession and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
